We are really proud that Forestry Commission, through their Woodlands into Management Forestry Innovation Fund (WiMFIF), are funding Living Woods CIC for three years as we seek to help owners and community groups managing small woodlands make them viable.
We are developing a local market and supply chain for woodland products like charcoal, firewood, and coppice products, and supporting a coppice apprentice through our patnership with the Bill Hogarth Memorial Apprenticeship Trust (BHMAT).
Working in partnership with Woodland Trust, we are initially developing the future woodland work of both Durham Woodland Revival and Land of Oak and Iron’s woodland projects.
Working across North East we are seeking how to support any groups involved in getting woodlands back into management and increasing biodiversity.
We’ll update this page with more information on ReKindle as the project develops.
