WOODNET: RESTORING HAZEL COPPICE FOR PRODUCT & BIODIVERSITY

Living Woods is managing a woodland to restore Hazel coppice.

Living Woods is undertaking a programme of woodland management to restore Hazel coppice, produce an increasing range of coppice products for market and enhance biodiversity.

Mark Shipperlee, Operations Director of Living Woods will lead a guided walk through Horsley Wood, looking at management techniques, habitat improvement, and issues of disease and deer, etc.

As Living Woods seeks to gain some woodland product income, support nature and provide volunteering opportunities, the site demonstrates the development of the work programme in each coup – providing lots of topics for discussion as we walk.

Part of the aim is to understand more about planning woodland management, from working in existing woodlands, to designing and creating new woodlands.

The ticket price of £18 includes VAT.

(We have increased ticket prices to cover the rise in our costs).
